If you've been seeing those gorgeous, fluffy, perfectly groomed brows all over your Instagram feed lately and wondering "how do they DO that?!" — the answer is almost always brow lamination. 🙌
It's one of the most popular brow treatments in the world right now, and honestly? Once you try it, you'll never look back. Here at LBA Lashes in Crows Nest, it's one of our most booked treatments — and we're about to tell you EVERYTHING you need to know before you come in.
Let's get into it! 🤍
What is Brow Lamination?
Brow lamination is a treatment that restructures and sets your brow hairs into a new shape — usually upward and outward — giving you that full, fluffy, brushed-up look that used to only be achievable with a LOT of brow gel and effort every single morning.
Think of it a bit like a perm, but for your eyebrows. The treatment relaxes and reshapes the brow hairs so they sit exactly where YOU want them to — not where they naturally want to fall. The result is brows that look fuller, more defined, and beautifully groomed from the moment you wake up.
No more sparse-looking gaps. No more hairs going in ten different directions. Just smooth, fluffy, Insta-ready brows every single day. ✨
What Does Brow Lamination Do Exactly?
Here's what you can expect brow lamination to do for you:
✨ Instantly lifts and sets brow hairs upward for that full, fluffy look
✨ Makes brows appear fuller and thicker — even if you have sparse or thin brows, lamination makes the most of every single hair you have
✨ Defines your natural brow shape without any needles, microblading, or pain
✨ Covers gaps and sparse patches by redirecting hairs to fill them in
✨ Eliminates the need for brow gel or daily brow styling — your brows just stay
✨ Works on all brow types — whether your hairs are thick and unruly or fine and sparse

How Does the Process Work?
Great question! Brow lamination is a 3-step chemical process that works with the structure of your brow hairs:
Step 1 — Activating Lotion This gentle solution softens and breaks down the bonds inside the brow hair, making the hairs flexible and ready to be reshaped. Think of it like softening the hair so we can mould it into the perfect position.
Step 2 — Fixing Lotion Once your brows are brushed up into your ideal shape, the fixing lotion sets the hairs in that new position — locking in your beautiful new brow shape so it holds for weeks.
Step 3 — Nourishing Lotion The final step rehydrates and conditions the brow hairs after the treatment, leaving them looking glossy, healthy, and smooth. This is what gives laminated brows that gorgeous sheen you see in photos!
How Long Does Brow Lamination Last?
Brow lamination typically lasts 4–6 weeks, and with great aftercare it can stretch to up to 8 weeks. 🙌
Results vary slightly depending on your hair type, skin type, and how well you look after your brows in between appointments — which brings us to the important bit...
Brow Lamination Aftercare — This Part MATTERS!
Aftercare is what separates good results from GREAT results, so please don't skip this section! 😄
For the first 24 hours after your treatment:
- Keep your brows completely dry — no sweating, swimming, steaming, or getting caught in the rain!
- Don't apply any products to the brow area
- Don't rub or touch your brows
- Try not to sleep face-down (we know, we know 😅)
After 24 hours, you can get them wet and go about your normal routine. To get the most out of your lamination and keep your brow hairs in the best condition:
- Brush your brows upward every morning with a spoolie
- Apply a nourishing brow serum or oil regularly to keep the hairs hydrated and healthy
- Avoid heavy oil-based products directly on the brows as these can break down the lamination faster
- Book your next appointment at around the 6-week mark to keep them looking their best consistently
Is Brow Lamination Safe? Will It Damage My Brows?
This is one of the questions we get asked most often — and it's a great one to ask! The honest answer is: brow lamination is very safe when it's done correctly by a trained professional using quality products, and when you follow the aftercare.
The process does use a chemical solution, but it's specifically formulated for use on facial hair and is well-tolerated by most people. We always do a skin assessment before your treatment to make sure it's right for you.
The nourishing step at the end of the treatment is specifically there to restore moisture and condition the hairs after the chemical process, which is why aftercare is so important — keeping your brow hairs hydrated between appointments is key to avoiding any dryness. 🤍
If you have very damaged or extremely fine brow hairs, we'll always have an honest chat with you about what results to expect and whether the timing is right.
Brow Lamination vs Microblading — What's the Difference?
We get asked this a lot too! Here's the simple version:
Brow lamination works with your EXISTING brow hairs — it reshapes and lifts what you already have. It's non-invasive, painless, totally temporary, and there's zero downtime. Perfect if you have enough brow hair but want them to look more defined, fuller, or more groomed.
Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique that literally draws hair strokes into the skin. It's a much bigger commitment — it involves needles, healing time, and lasts 1–3 years.
If you're not ready for microblading, or you just want to make the most of your natural brows first — brow lamination is your best friend. And honestly, SO many people find they don't even need microblading once they see what lamination can do with what they've already got! ✨
Who is Brow Lamination Perfect For?
Literally almost everyone — but especially if you:
- Have naturally sparse, thin, or patchy brows and want them to look fuller
- Have unruly brows that go in every direction and never sit right
- Want low-maintenance, wake-up-and-go brows without the daily effort
- Are looking for a pain-free, non-invasive alternative to microblading
- Want to enhance and define your natural brow shape without going too dramatic
- Have asymmetrical brows that you'd love to balance out
